Donald Trump bought fast food for a celebration and the burns kept coming – 18 hot takes

With the US government in a record-breaking period of partial shutdown, more than 800,000 federal employees are without pay, yet the architect of the shutdown, President Donald Trump, posed for photographs with the enormous spread of fast food, bought in for football champions visiting the White House.

The celebration for Clemson University’s football team would ordinarily have been a sumptuous dinner, but in the absence of enough White House chefs, Trump eschewed calling on his own restaurant or one of the many other local establishments, in favour of ordering from McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King.
