Esther McVey said every EU member would have to adopt the euro in 2020 – the only replies you need
Here’s so-called Tory MP Esther McVey reassuring everyone just why it is a good thing we do Brexit and leave those bullying EU types behind.
Hmm, that’s interesting. Every EU country will have to join the euro by 2020, you say?
Except, if the public aren’t aware of this, then there’s probably a good reason for that. That reason being it’s a load of bollocks.
There was no end of better informed people queuing up to tell her this. People like Sky News’s Europe correspondent Mark Stone, for instance.
.@EstherMcVey1 – this is simply (and demonstrably) NOT TRUE.
You are an elected member of Parliament with responsibilities. Are you really so ignorant of the facts or are you knowingly misleading the public with nonsense? Genuine question. https://t.co/dShZtFFiG8— Mark Stone (@Stone_SkyNews) March 10, 2019
Eventually the Brexit cheerleader deleted the tweet, but not before she attempted to palm off people’s complaints with responses like this.
And these are the only 13 replies you need …
1.
The point is not whether people "agree with the article". The point is that a) the headline and tweet make a false claim, b) you repeated that false claim in your own tweet, and c) this is unacceptably dishonest behaviour from an MP. https://t.co/4KvQeKDSMn

Wow @EstherMcVey1 – a ‘sorry I posted a lie’ would have done. You demean yourself and your position . #whataboutery #liar https://t.co/4lOHo0EwJ5

I may have suggested someone was a child molester earlier. Even though they aren’t I’m sure we all agree we wouldn’t like them to become one?

5.
Esther, it’s not a matter of agreement but fact. The article you posted was simply false. Grossly irresponsible from an elected representative.

From reading your tweets, even if you have the IQ of a pumpkin, I think we can all agree on one thing – you have shamelessly disseminated lies in public and should apologise now. https://t.co/ACIofLd7HM

We need to talk about Esther McVey:
An MP who will lie about anything if it suits her ideology.
Her lies are so bad she was forced to apologise for misleading Parliament.
When caught lying on twitter, she’ll just double down.
Why are there no rules against this kind of fraud? https://t.co/Ab1fYmQ1bc

“From reading the comments, even if you don’t agree with the article I posted”
It’s not a question of not agreeing. The article you posted (which was written in 2014) is factually inaccurate. A false narrative promoted by the propaganda site BrexitCentral. You lot have no shame.

Are the public aware that after 2020, the EU insists that every British schoolchild will have to go and mislead Parliament in order to get their GSCEs? Oh wait that was @EstherMcVey1 #McVeyFacts https://t.co/anPYalmHuP

Is the public aware that Esther McVey is in favour of deliberately giving cancer to puppies?
— James Felton (@JimMFelton) March 11, 2019
12.
This is totally and utterly false. It was speculation by Andrew Lillico in 2014 and was debunked then. There being no truth in this, as a MP and public servant you have a duty to tell the truth & you should not be spreading known falsehoods. You need to retract it immediately.

Apparently Esther McVey considers herself leadership material. though this could be another of her lies

To conclude …
The false claim about Britain being forced to join the Euro if it stayed in the EU has now been deleted from Esther McVey's twitter account, but no explanation or apology. She remains a member of Her Majesty's Privy Council
