James O’Brien’s summary of the UK’s negotiation stance makes darkly comic listening
Award-winning author and radio presenter, James O’Brien, had a chat with LBC’s political editor, Theo Usherwood, and boiled the UK’s negotiation stance down to this.
”If they don’t do what we want, we’ll walk away, and it won’t be a no-deal, it’ll be an Australian deal, which is a new word for a no-deal – and something about fish.”
In spite of having until December to secure a deal, which is already cutting it fine, the government has vowed to walk away from negotiations if enough agreement hasn’t been reached by June. That must have been in the fine print on the manifesto.
As much as we appreciated the summary he put to Theo, we enjoyed the one he tweeted even more.
We’re back to threatening to hit the EU with our own testicles.
